IRE’s quarterly journal features ARIJ’s Shada Hottam from Yemen
Amman, Jordan, Oct 26, 2015– The latest edition of the prestigious quarterly journal of the Investigative Reporters and Editors is featuring Yemeni journalist Shada Hotam, 24, who spent months documenting horrible living conditions inside the only university dorm for female students in Sana’a.
The investigation “Crammed Quarters: Exposing inequities of female student housing in Yemen” was completed with support from the Amman-based Arab Reporters for Investigative Journalism (ARIJ). ARIJ – www.arij.net — is the region’s leading media support organization promoting “accountability journalism” among journalists, editors and media professors in nine Arab states since 2005.
The award-winning magazine of IRE is published four times a year and contains certain journalists’ profiles. It explores techniques behind investigations, and the theme for every issue is chosen to reflect major news trends, outstanding investigative work and core topics relevant to journalists worldwide.
