Rosemary Armao has worked as a visiting consultant and editor at ARIJ since May 2017. She is the regional editor for the Middle East of the Organized Crime and Corruption Reporting Project (OCCRP). Armao returned to the field after a 9-year stint at the State University of New Yorkat Albany where she was an associate professor and director of theJournalism Program. She also was a public affairs commentator on theNational Public Radio affiliate WAMC there. She has written and edited forsix U.S. newspapers and a wire service, taught journalism and writing atfive U.S. universities and worked on reporting and media developmentprojects in Africa, Asia, Eastern Europe and the Middle East.. She is aformer head of the Journalism and Women’s Symposium and of Investigative Reporters and Editors. She holds degrees from Syracuse and Ohio State universities.
