is a leading Yemeni journalist and editor. As an ARIJEAN, he has been a member of the Board of Directors since 2014 and previously served on the Advisory Council of ARIJ, in addition to being a certified ARIJ trainer and coach in investigative journalism. Al Asaadi is a founding member of the Yemeni IJ association. With more than 15 years of experience as a journalist, his writings have appeared in Yemeni, regional and international newspapers and magazines, including the New York Times, the Sunday Times and Egypt’s Al-Ahram Weekly. A media consultant with practical experience, Al-Asaadi maintains strong connections with local media and key regional and international networks. He e has been served as a board member, advisor, analyst, and/or trainer for media organizations, including CPJ, Article 19, Arab Press Freedom Watch, IFJ, IWPR, IMS, DCMF, Yemen Journalists Syndicate, Media Women Forum, and Women Journalists without Chains. Based in Sanaa, he works now as media and communication specialist/spokesperson at UNICEF Yemen. He was elected vice chair in December 2015.
