Amman — ARIJ is looking for an experienced managing editor with an excellent eye for the great investigative story. The candidate we are looking for is up to the challenge of leading the MENA region’s premiere investigative center where they should demonstrate excellent leadership, editing, mentoring and collaborative skills.
You will lead and grow our team of dedicated journalists, researchers and data specialists from our Amman offices.
You will commission and edit politically and socially sensitive investigative stories as well as smaller — but still important — “training” investigations.
You will safeguard our ethical, legal and professional standards for fairness, accuracy and levels of proof.
We are looking for the face of Arab investigative journalism that will combine good mentoring and teaching skills, leadership, patience, courage, resolve and the ability to both inspire respect from colleagues while demonstrating it to others. You must also be an efficient manager capable of meeting deadlines, solving problems and improving systems.
ARIJ (Arab Reporters for Investigative Journalism) is the first investigative journalism network established in the Middle East and North Africa.
