Amman, Aug. 22 – Arab Reporters for Investigative Journalism (ARIJ) has signed a distribution agreement with Journeyman Pictures LTD of London, a leading supplier of award-winning stories to the world broadcast market.
The agreement took effect Aug. 7, when Journeyman added ARIJ’s latest investigation “Sons of War” – to “The Journeyman Weekly”, a newsletter that goes to more than 4,500 buyers, and to its YouTube channel of some 770,000 subscribers.
“Sons of War” documents how hundreds of Yemeni children are being turned into soldiers and explains what prompts parents to drag their kids into a raging civil war. The agreement is in line with ARIJ’s strategy to continuously upgrade the quality of its investigations and to diversify platforms using ARIJ content.
ARIJ is the first and leading media organization in the region dedicated to promoting investigative journalism in Arab newsrooms. It set up its multi-media department three years ago.
It was founded in early 2005 to support independent quality professional journalism, and it does this by funding in-depth journalism projects, training journalists and offering media coaching.
