
Fatima Bani Ahmad is a senior fact-checker and trainer with extensive expertise in the field of verification. As an editor at ARIJ’s Arab Fact-Checkers Network (AFCN), she oversees the AFCN Chatbot, ensuring the accuracy and quality of the content delivered to users. She has managed and supervised several flagship initiatives, including the Fact-Checking Diploma program and training the AFCN community on Full Fact’s AI tools in Arabic.
Fatima has delivered in-depth pre- and post-publication fact-checking training to journalists, researchers, and media professionals, playing a key role in developing methodologies that support media organizations in improving their accuracy and credibility.
As a trainer, she has coached journalists and fact-checkers on advanced verification techniques, media literacy, and fact-checking in science and climate reporting. She has also developed specialized training resources and led workshops on critical thinking and misinformation detection, significantly contributing to the growth of a fact-checking culture within Arab media and empowering professionals across the region.
