Mauritanians are exposed to chronic illnesses and constant environmental pollution that threatens their displacement from the country’s economic capital, Nouadhibou, because of the fishmeal industry in Mauritania backed by suspicious licenses for businessmen who are most notably Chinese, while the government turns a blind eye.
