The Journalism Department at the University of the Witwatersrand in Johannesburg included two of ARIJ investigations: “No Hospitals for the Poor” as well as “Death License” as part of their archive of Africa’s best investigative journalism curriculum and referred to in the website of the African Investigative Journalism Conference. The Investigation “No Hospitals for the Poor” tweet on August 4 on the ARIJ twitter account got 145 organic likes and over 100 retweets. Furthermore, the investigation was used by many activists, human rights defenders, and civilians as a resource to shed light on even greater issues on the current livelihood status of more than 60 million Egyptians.
