Communication Manager

Samya Ayish joined ARIJ as Communications Manager in 2021, bringing her expertise as a freelance journalist and expert in digital media and innovation. In her training programs, Samya emphasizes visual storytelling and the strategic integration of Artificial Intelligence, driven by a mission to empower journalists with modern tools and creative methodologies that elevate their narratives and expand their reach across diverse digital platforms. At ARIJ, she spearheads the initiative to embed AI into daily workflows across all departments, building on her extensive experience advising organizations on communication strategies. Her career includes serving as the first Teaching Fellow for the Google News Initiative in the MENA region and a nearly 15-year tenure at CNN Arabic in Dubai. Samya holds a Master’s degree in Communication and New Media from the University of Sharjah and a Bachelor’s degree from the American University of Sharjah. Samya is also a children books writer.
