“Blue, Beaten and Bruised” Wins the second place in the National Center on Disability and Journalism Reporting Contest

On October 15, Safaa Ashour finished in second place for “Blue, Beaten and Bruised”, which details physical abuse of children at special needs centers in Egypt, in the National Center on Disability and Journalism Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication Reporting Contest, under the small media category.
This is the well-known Katherine Schneider Journalism Award for Excellence in Reporting on Disability, the only journalism contest devoted exclusively to the coverage of people with disabilities and disability issues.
