Following its publication on December 23, 2020 and on January 21, 2021 Egyptian MP Sahar Mustafa used ARIJ investigation, “Sports Centers in Egypt” by Hager Hesham, as an evidence in her confrontation with the Minister of Youth and Sports during a parliamentary session on the lack of governmental attention to the decreased participation and number of female registrations in Sports Centers. She stressed that this has been the issue for 10 years with no authority addressing it or providing a safe and private environment for female members.
