September 20, 2021

Registration is Now Open!

Do you want to discover all the latest in the world of investigative journalism? Do you want to advance your skills and knowledge in this field? Are you looking to network with investigative journalists from inside and outside the Arab world? This is your biggest chance to attend the biggest Arab forum for investigative journalism, at ARIJ’s 14th annual forum.

To preserve everyone’s safety, this will be the second virtual forum, hoping to meet face-to-face in ARIJ’s 15th annual forum next year, if the circumstances imposed on us by the COVID-19 pandemic allowed us.

This year’s forum is under the theme of “Journalism and Accountability in a Disrupted World”.

You might wonder, why this theme at this time?

Here at ARIJ, we believe that the main mission for us as journalists is to empower the community and increase its awareness, so it can be part of the decision-making process. However, the current disruption the world is going through made authorities use the pandemic as an excuse to silence journalists and limit their access to information. This caused a partial -and sometimes whole- media blackout.

The forum will be held between 3-5 December, 2021, and will be focused on discussion sessions. It will conclude with announcing the winners of the ARIJ Awards for the best Arab investigative reports.

What about training workshops? Webinar sessions? Specialized clinics?

To get the best benefit out of the forum, pre-forum activities will start beginning October, 2021, and we will soon announce all of the activities’ details to those registered in the forum. The pre-forum activities will host more than 100 experts in the field of investigative journalism from more than 40 countries from all around the world.

We are always proud at ARIJ, since our launch in 2005, that our annual forum became a major networking and training platform for exchanging expertise and skills between Arab and international media professionals. ARIJ contributed to the training of more than 3500 journalist from the Arab world, in addition to launching a number of initiatives, programs, and projects that support the journalistic community in the Arab region, most notably the launching of the Arac Fact-Checkers Network (AFCN) during last year’s forum.

You can register for the forum here, and do not forget to invite your interested colleagues to be with us in the 14th annual forum.
