As part of its efforts to enhance understanding and skills related to gender and identity issues, ARIJ organised a two-day training attended by ARIJ members from the Editorial, Portfolio and Management departments.
The training, led by journalist and trainer Nazeeha Saeed, focused on discussing the challenges and sensitivities associated with addressing gender issues in journalism. The sessions included practical exercises, showcasing journalistic examples, and reviewing relevant case studies. Participants engaged in discussions about the difficulties they face in covering these topics professionally, with an emphasis on providing fair and unbiased coverage.
This training is part of ARIJ’s commitment to enhancing the capacity of its team to handle gender and identity issues in journalism, aiming to foster a pluralistic and responsible media environment while equipping journalists with the tools needed to promote equality in media coverage.
