ARIJ offers 7 fellowships for investigative reporters [MENA]

Arab Reporters for Investigative Journalism (ARIJ) is offering 7 fellowships for a period of 6 to 7-month within ARIJ Editorial department beginning on December 1, 2022.

Independent Arab investigative journalists/editors can apply. Applicants should have at least four years of journalism work experience, submit samples of published/broadcast work, as well as must submit a proposal for an investigative report in order for the application to be accepted. Full commitment is required throughout the fellowship period, as it is a full time fellowship for 7 months, and fellows must carry out an investigation with ARIJ by the end of the fellowship.

Five fellows will join the ARIJ team in Amman, Jordan (physical), and two can work remotely (online). Fellows will be given the chance to attend ARIJ training with the possibility of participating in ARIJ’s 15th annual Forum in 2022.

ARIJ will compensate each fellow with $800 USD per month, in addition to covering travel (1 round trip ticket) and accommodation expenses for those joining the team in Amman coming from outside Jordan.

The fellowship is implemented in partnership with the National Endowment for Democracy (NED) and other partners.

Registration is open to all interested Arab journalists/editors on Thursday, October 20, 2022.

The application deadline is Thursday, November 3, 2022.
