Compete for 4 fellowship opportunities at ARIJ in 2025, Supported by NED

ARIJ is announcing the opening of applications for four fellowship opportunities in 2025, as part of ARIJ’s collaboration with the National Endowment for Democracy (NED):


  • Two Fellowships in investigative reporting within the editorial department for three months (in-person).
  • One Fellowship for research within the editorial department for three months (in-person).
  • One Fellowship for a fact-checker within the Arab Fact-Checkers Network for six months (remotely).
  • The fellowships are open to investigative journalists from Arab countries with a minimum of five years of journalistic experience, preferably including investigative reporting, and for fact-checkers within the AFCN community preferably with a minimum of 2 years of fact-checking experience.


The editorial fellowships require work from ARIJ’s office in Amman, Jordan, while the fact-checking fellowship with AFCN will be conducted remotely. 


ARIJ provides:

  • A monthly stipend of $800 USD Gross
  • Priority access to ARIJ’s training programs.
  • For the in-person fellowships in Amman, ARIJ covers travel expenses to and from Jordan as well as accommodation costs (apartment rental).
