AMMAN — Arab Reporters for Investigative Journalism (ARIJ) is offering a training grant for journalists on “Introduction to Writing Techniques and Storytelling for Journalists“, with the aim of raising the quality of information dissemination related to accountability and governance issues in Jordan; opening new horizons for journalists to work on in-depth reports with ARIJ.
This competitive training scholarship is for all Jordanian media professionals and journalists in the media sectors of print, digital, radio or television.
The five-day online training will be held online via the ARIJ Academy and will take place from Tuesday 13th to Saturday 17th of October, from 12:00PM to 6:00PM, as part of the project “Strengthening Media Independence in Jordan”, supported by the United Nations Democracy Fund (UNDEF).
This training is a condition to participate in subsequent specialized training that enables journalists to receive editorial, material and legal support, as well as to present their in-depth reports and press stories related to accountability and governance during the ARIJ 2021 forum.
Conditions of enrollment:
- Applicants must be Jordanian and reside in Jordan.
- Applicants must commit to attend the five days remotely. Any absence from any session (for any reason) prevents him/her from continuing with the training and obtaining certification of completion.
- The participant must have an idea for a story and be prepared to carry it out under ARIJ’s supervision.
